The Chicahuac Exhibition: Women’s Stories of Strength & Sacrifice from Rural Mexico to the Midwest will be at the Wabasha Public Library beginning Wednesday, November 12. All are invited to the opening reception from 6-7pm that evening. The exhibit features the stories of six women from Mexico who show us what being strong really means. Enjoy tamales, homemade salsa, agua de Jamaica, and some Mexican desserts while you walk into the lives of these incredible women and learn why they inspired the creation of this exhibit. If you are unable to attend the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display at the Wabasha Library until the end of November. Anyone is welcome to visit the library during regular business hours to tour the exhibit and learn about the lives of these women who exemplify chicāhuac: the Nahuatl word for strong, robust, and powerful.
